Acne and Toenail Fungus
The treatment of acne using pulsed light is constantly gaining popularity among patients seeking a drug-free alternative to treat this chronic, common skin disease. Acne affects up to 80% of individuals at some point in their life. SharpLight systems provide very satisfactory results in the treatment of mild and moderate inflammatory acne, by reducing the number of papules and pustules by 6—65%. This is achieved using three effective, safe and reliable clinical mechanisms: visible blue light absorption to destroy the bacteria, yellow light to coagulate the feeding blood vessels and infrared light to dry the lesions. This treatment works best in a series of 8 sessions over a period of one month. More treatments get more results. Clinical peels can get rid of residual scaring and pitting left behind from older acne and can be added on to these treatments or performed after treatments are finished. Each treatment is booked for 30 minutes.
Our MaxVP2 handpiece emits two ranges of wavelengths. The combination of heat and light destroys the fungus of each or all toes. A minimum of 12 treatments is required and treatments are performed once a week.
