This points to why you want to see a therapist that can muscle test to verify the strength of a muscle/tissue. Randomly stretching or foam rolling tight muscles may lead to a series of dysfunctions within the body. Bret LeBlanc, DOMP, is a Level 3 NKT practitioner and he can accurately assess whether or not a muscle/tissue needs to be strengthened or released. Book a treatment with Bret to get started on your road to recovery. Initial consultations $100 (tax exempt). 902-883-8668

With tight muscles, the most obvious response is to try to stretch them. However, when you stretch an inhibited muscle, it typically creates further inhibition. If you stretch a muscle and it either tightens right back up or even gets worse, there's a good chance you're dealing with inhibition. Try stretching an opposing muscle and see if that helps. The psoas major muscle, the hip flexor, is an example of a frequently inhibited muscle that gets routinely (and mistakenly) stretched.
