Reflexology & Craniosacral Therapy

Treatments

Reflexology Therapy
Reflexology is a treatment performed on the feet (and occasionally the hands) to promote relaxation, detoxification and revitalize energy. Based on ancient Eastern techniques it works on the principle that the feet and hands are a microcosm of the body. Tender areas can often indicate congestion within the body and palpation of the ‘reflex’ area can gradually ease these blockages away, helping to restore a sense of balance and wellbeing. Reflexology can help:

  • release accumulated toxins, whether due to poor diet, lack of exercise, environmental toxins, or medications
  • release deep stress and body tensions
  • improve foot mobility and flow of blood/lymph
  • regulate sleeping patterns
  • relieve digestive disorders (constipation, irritable bowel)
  • help balance hormonal conditions (ie. thyroid, PMS, menopause)
  • alleviate headache or sinus pain
  • manage chronic conditions (ie. arthritis, asthma)
  • stimulate the body’s immune system and promote immunity and self-healing

Aromatherapy Massage
A relaxing massage enhanced by the use of therapeutic essential oils. A blend of oils is selected at the beginning of the treatment to suit your individual needs. Essential oils are essences derived from flowers, plants and trees. Each essential oil has specific therapeutic properties able to help with a number of physical and emotional health conditions. Aromatherapy Massage can be beneficial for:

  • relaxation and release of daily stresses
  • back and neck pain/tension
  • headaches and sinus congestion
  • bowel problems such as constipation
  • premenstrual tension, menopausal symptoms
  • asthma, bronchitis
  • fluid retention and lymphatic congestion
  • increased immunity against illness and disease

Cranial Sacral Therapy
Cranial Sacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on therapy, working to assist the release of restrictions within the cranial sacral system. Results are profound and long-lasting and the treatment is very calming. The cranial sacral system extends from the head (cranium) to the base of the spine (sacrum) and contains an assembly of bone, fascia tissue and cerebrospinal fluid, all vital for maintaining a well functioning nervous system. During a treatment, the therapist feels for areas of fascial restriction in the body and performs delicate manipulations to free tension and improve joint and soft tissue mobility. As a result, the pulse of cerebrospinal fluid throughout the nervous system is restored, while circulation and drainage of lymph and sinus fluids is improved. The easy flow of cerebrospinal fluid reflects the softness of the connective tissues, or fascia, linking all organs, muscles and bones. Disturbances in the flow of fluid reflect tension or injuries in the body, or pressures on the cranial bones. Cranial Sacral Therapy effectively treats a range of acute and chronic conditions. It is especially recommended for those who experience:

  • a general feeling of unwellness and/or stress
  • chronic pain and tension,
  • depression or grief,
  • chronic fatigue,
  • headaches, jaw, ear, or eye discomfort,
  • dizziness or imbalance,
  • digestive concerns

Access Bars Body Process
Access Bars body process works energetically with the conscious self to empower and facilitate change and possibility. There are 32 points on the head (BARS) that when run, will unlock the conditioning and limitations of thought patterns, beliefs, points of view, emotions, and judgements that no longer serve you.
By getting your BARS run you actually start to become more present in your life, and the past doesn’t project into your future the same way. Neuroscience has found, using brain scanning equipment, the positive impact on the brain after a BARS session – specifically in the areas of attention, focus, concentration, coherence with heart and mind and information processing. The feedback I hear from a person after receiving a BARS session is that they have more clarity and awareness, more peace of mind, more mind space and less chatter, and whole lot more ease with less reaction to stressful situations.

Holistic Healing is a gentle approach to wellness which encompasses all aspects of our being – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Holistic healing focuses on the whole person rather than on separate areas of the body. It aims at healing the causes of illness, rather than solely relieving symptoms. Holistic therapies complement conventional treatment; however they can be effective when drugs are not working for us, or if we prefer to avoid taking medications because of unpleasant side effects. The main objective of holistic healing is the release of stress and tensions to achieve a state of inner balance, helping the body to rid itself of toxins and strengthen immunity against illness. Where illness is present, holistic therapies activate the body’s own innate self-healing.

Posted @withregram • @nourishedmagnesium ☆☆☆☆☆ “Pain Away” The best relief for aches and pains - Alison☆☆☆☆☆ “Total Game Changer” I’m someone who suffers from severe menstrual cramps and am currently on a (long) waitlist to be tested for endometriosis. Every day of each monthly cycle, I was taking 6+ platinum strength muscle relaxers just to function. This past month, I used zero pills - only this cream. I am in awe of the difference. I applied this twice a day to my lower abdomen and barely felt a single cramp! It changed everything about those four (previously grueling) days. I will be sticking with this for a long, long time! - Jillian☆☆☆☆☆ “Great Product!” Magnesium Arnica Cream has been amazing in helping me sleep at night when legs and feet are sore. Rubbing it behind my knees seems to work best for my issue. Highly recommend!! - BrittanyFind Nourished products at Strides Spa and Wellness Center. ... See MoreSee Less

HELLO SPRING!Spring is a time for expansion and growth rather than contraction. We will often feel the need to move and grow. The organ associated with Spring is the liver and one of the main purposes of the Liver in Traditional Chinese Medicine is making sure the qi is smooth flowing through our bodies. When the liver is out of balance the emotion we most often feel is anger. If our body is not allowed to feel the growth and expansion we will begin to feel stuck, causing our liver qi to stop moving smoothly through out of body causing feelings of stress, frustration and anger. We will also feel physical symptoms such as a tight neck and shoulders, PMS and menstrual problems and even digestive problems. How can we keep our liver in balance and keep our liver qi flowing?• Eat more greens like broccoli, kale, lettuce, beans and peas because the color associated with the liver is green.• Exercise as movement helps to encourage the smooth flow of qi .• The Spring wind is gusty and the warm sun sometimes tricks us so protect yourself from the wind by wearing a scarf and covering yourself with a sweater or jacket.• Spring is also a great time for your own personal growth and expanding both mentally, physically and soul level. And Lastly BOOK AN ACUPUNCTURE APPOINTMENT WITH Ronda!Direct billing available.Assessment and treatment $100.00 (tax exempt)Follow up Treatment $80.00 (tax exempt)Guasha and Cupping/Fire Cupping available.(902)883-8668www.stridesspa.ca#stridesspa #acupunctureworks #elmsdaleacupuncture #springishere🌸 ...
